The hotel's name, Phos, is Greek for light (Φώς). We designed a monogram using the first two letters of the name, P and H, which create the phoneme /f/, rendered by the Greek letter "Φ".
In order to merge the two languages, a small element was added adjacent to the letter P, which might be perceived as the incomplete reflection of the letter's circular form: the end result alludes to the Greek letter "Φ".
The symbol is enclosed by an arched shape as a reference to the distinct Cycladic architecture.
For the applications we used a limited colour palette which consists of white, black and an earthy tone which is reminicent of the hotel's interiors.
